PwC Global Digital Procurement Survey

April 2024

We are delighted to present the results of the fifth edition of our Digital Procurement Survey. In this edition, the barometer of digital transformation took on an increasingly international dimension, covering around 1,000 companies in close to 60 countries across five continents.

Regionally, Asia had an active 2023 due to its crucial role in global trade and this is particularly true for Hong Kong. Ongoing challenges posed by economic, geopolitical and environmental crises, overlaid with changing consumer demand, has led to Procurement being more strategic than ever.

Cost control, the perennial priority for Procurement, is now being challenged by Digitalisation and Sustainability as key topics for Procurement professionals. The survey indicates

  • Digitised Procurement functions are seen as real assets by leaders, starting companies on the data transparency journey
  • Environmental risk monitoring is increasing in maturity, leading to companies adopting more responsible sourcing practices

Today, Procurement departments' roadmaps include integration with new ERP’s, increasing their own digitalisation and driving ESG value creation opportunities, demonstrating a commitment to delivering a more sustainable performance.
