Vivien Lau is a US tax partner of PwC Hong Kong. She brings extensive US and international tax experience from working with clients in both external adviser and in-house counsel capacities. She helps clients navigate the constantly evolving tax landscape by offering practical advice and developing optimal solutions with clients and their stakeholders.
Prior to joining PwC, Vivien was formerly an Executive Director at a global financial services firm. While in New York and Hong Kong, she has provided US and local tax advisory and compliance support to clients in relation to various global and regional real estate and private equity fund products. She has advised clients on a diverse range of US and cross-border tax matters at the transaction, fund, and firm-to-fund levels in relation to fund investments in the US and across Asia Pacific. Partnering with clients and other stakeholders, she has managed various tax aspects of the front-to-back life cycle from product development, fundraising, investment structuring, compliance, audit support, stewardship to restructuring, disposal, and liquidation.
In addition, Vivien has worked with multinational clients as an external tax adviser while in New York and Hong Kong. During this time, she has helped clients design and implement integrated global tax strategies that achieve business objectives and address tax opportunities and risks.
Vivien holds a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and a Master of Science in Accounting-Tax Consulting from the University of Virginia. She is a licensed US Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
