Partner, PwC China
Quentina Zhao is a partner in Forensic Services in PwC China based in Shanghai. She has extensive experience in the investigation and prevention of various types of fraud and corruption, as well as a wide spectrum of compliance matters, such as regulatory enforcement.
Since she started her career in this line of professional service in Shanghai in 2006, Quentina has helped clients’ board of directors respond to regulator inquiries or short-seller reports, helped business partners solve their disputes in an independent role, and protected shareholder interest by detecting fraud perpetrated by management or staff, either alone or in corroboration with third parties, including financial statement fraud, asset misappropriation, bribery and corruption. Quentina is not only highly recognised by her clientele as a seasoned expert in this line of service, but also by local regulators in the role of subject matter expert due to her adaption of forensic methodology to local particularities.
During her work in Shenzhen from 2020 to 2022 before her relocation back to Shanghai, she built up a forensic team and started this service line in southern mainland China, where local private businesses are booming with forensic service needs very different from those in other areas. Through immersing in the local market and connecting with regulators and business communities, she has gained a deep understanding of the pain points of local enterprises and entrepreneurs and accordingly tailored service offerings to such needs.
Quentina always has an overview of the bigger picture of each engagement, while being responsive in the service provision process and meticulous with deliverables, with an aim of delivering the PwC experience to her clients. She is a member of the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accounts (CICPA) and is fluent in both Mandarin and English.
