Qisheng Yu is a tax partner of PwC China based in Beijing. He started his transfer pricing career with PwC in Chicago in 1998, and joined PwC China in 2004. He is listed by Legal Media Group among the “World’s Leading Transfer Pricing Advisors.”
Qisheng has provided a full range of transfer pricing services to clients in a variety of industries, with a special focus on technology, automotive, and pharmaceutical industries.
Qisheng is a seasoned transfer pricing dispute resolution expert, and has assisted many clients in audit defense, negotiating advance pricing arrangements (APAs) and seeking relief from double taxation through the mutual agreement procedure (MAP) process. He is credited with helping client reach 13 bilateral APAs, including six with European, three with North American and four with Asian countries. These APAs represent approximately one quarter of all bilateral APAs concluded by China so far, and cover transfer of tangible goods, licensing of intangibles, and the provision of services. He is leading a number of APA projects in the technology, pharmaceutical, automotive and consumer products industries.
Qisheng is a frequent speaker at professional seminars, and has conducted numerous round table discussions with the Chinese tax authorities at all levels. He received his M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park, and B.Sc. in Mathematics from Nanjing University.
