Nelson Lou

Nelson is a partner of the Transactions Group in Hong Kong specialising in providing due diligence services on financial institutions in Hong Kong and Mainland China.
 
During his eight years in the Transactions team, he has led the fieldwork in a number of domestic and cross border transactions.  He has extensive banking due diligence experience in Hong Kong and Mainland China, including:

• Proposed acquisition of a joint stock commercial bank in China by an international bank
• Proposed acquisition of a state owned commercial bank in China by a government investment authority
• Acquisition of a listed joint stock commercial bank in China by an international bank
• Acquisition of a listed joint stock commercial bank in China by a regional private equity fund
• Acquisition of the Hong Kong branch of an European bank by a listed commercial bank in Hong Kong
• Proposed investment in a PRC commercial bank by a regional private equity fund
• Equity investment in a credit guarantee company by a multilateral funding agency
• Acquisition of an asset management company in Shenzhen by a Japanese financial institution
• Acquisition of the Hong Kong securities business of a global financial institution by an Australian financial institution

He project managed the above assignments and was responsible for the review of the asset quality and compliance issues of the targets.
 
Whilst his industry service line is financial services (banking and insurance), he has played a key role in transactions involving diverse industries such as consumer products, transportation, high technology, telecommunication and other industrial manufacturing concerns.
 
Prior to joining the Transactions team in Hong Kong, he spent 5 years in the Assurance practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers which focused on general and financial services companies.  He had participated in numerous initial public offering assignments.  Nelson is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
