Lei is a Partner within the Risk Assurance practice in PwC Hong Kong and has over 15 years of experience in providing governance and regulatory advisory, assurance, and forensic services to a number of high profile investment banks and other financial institutions. Lei graduated from University College London (UCL) in the UK and is a Chartered Accountant (CA) with the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Scotland (ICAS).
Lei is a key driver of the Risk Assurance Innovations team at PwC and leads a number of emerging technology related initiatives including Fintech, Blockchain, ICOs, Cryptocurrencies etc. As part of her EmTech role, Lei has ran a number of Innovation Discovery Workshops which brings decision-makers together to better understand the FinTech landscape and how to apply it strategically. This involved partnering with best of breed innovators & disruptors in targeted solution areas in order to facilitate sustainable growth as well as to help financial institutions leverage FinTech trends and convert threats into opportunities.
Prior to joining PwC Hong Kong, she spent 7 years working in the PwC London office and 2 years in the PwC Beijing office, where she had managed a variety of financial, valuation and controls assurance engagements for global top-tier investment banks, including the implementation of relevant regulatory and accounting changes. During this period, Lei also executed a number of advisory projects assisting banking and capital markets clients with emerging industry issues and best practices including front-to-back governance and controls, product control and operational risk framework, and regulatory compliance.
