Lear is a partner in the China tax practice at PwC Hong Kong, specialised in mergers and acquisitions. Prior to the transfer to Hong Kong firm, Lear separately worked for 10 years at Shanghai office of China firm and 2 years at New York office of US firm.
Lear has extensive experience in advising multinational companies in formulating China investment strategies, corporate restructuring, as well as cash deployment options. He also provides compliance services such as China tax filings, company formation, change of ownership and company liquidation.
Since 2006, Lear has been providing deal related tax services in hundreds of deals with the provision of tax due diligence and tax structuring services. Lear’s clients include both corporates from a diverse of industries as well as financial investors, with a special focus on private equities.
Lear is qualified to practise law in China and is also a certified Chinese Tax Agent. He is proficient in English, Mandarin, and Shanghainese.
