Eric Gong

Eric Gong is a partner of Financial Services tax team of PwC Hong Kong. He specialises in asset management, corporate treasury and leasing industries. He is experienced in providing Hong Kong and international tax consulting services to various clients including China, European and US based groups, etc.

Eric’s clients mainly include asset management companies, family offices, asset financing and leasing clients, and multinational groups, etc. He has extensive experiences in advising asset management groups to set up fund and fund management structures with different investment strategies, including private equity funds, hedge funds, credit funds, pension funds, real estate funds, crossover funds, mutual funds, etc. He is heavily involved in the discussion and promotion of several key policy papers specific to fund management industry, including Unified Fund Exemption Regime, Hong Kong Limited Partnership Fund law and carried interest tax concession.

Eric is also experienced in tax structuring works for cross-border transactions. He has assisted fund managers to determine the investment and divestment structures for different transactions, taking into account key focused areas such as tax treaty networks, financing arrangement, etc.

Eric holds a China Certified Public Accountant (CICPA) certificate.
