Emily Chak joined PwC Hong Kong in 2003. She has over 20 years of extensive experience in advising commercial clients in different industries with a focus on trading, transportation and logistics as well as energy and utilities. In recent years, Emily has also involved in various projects for the public sector and trade associations in the context of Tax and Business advisory.

Emily has led and heavily involved in numerous mergers and acquisition projects and regional tax advisory assignments, including IPO planning, corporate restructuring, and cross-border cash pooling arrangements. In 2016, Emily led a global merger and tax structuring exercise for two state-owned enterprises (SOE) in the transportation and logistics industry which involved around 40 countries. In 2019, she led another restructuring advice and implementation for a SOE in the real estate industry involving over 100 entities. Since 2019, Emily has been the lead partner for various tax and business advisory projects with public sector clients, including advising on Hong Kong profits tax, market entry and business regulatory study for Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and territories where Hong Kong has signed Free Trade Agreements (FTA) and Investment Promotion and Protection Agreements (IPPAs).

Emily is a frequent speaker or moderator at seminars for business chambers and statutory bodies to share her experience on Hong Kong tax and doing business in the ASEAN and FTA markets. 

She currently serves as the Vice-chairman of the HKGCC’s Taxation Committee and a committee member of HKGCC’s Transport & Logistics Committee. Emily is appointed as one of the members for the ASEAN Advisory Group formed by the Financial Services Development Council.

Emily holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting) from HKUST. She is a Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in the United Kingdom, and a fellow of The Taxation Institute of Hong Kong and a Chartered Tax Adviser in Hong Kong.
