Angelica Kwan

Angelica Kwan is a US tax partner of PwC Hong Kong. She has over 25 years of US tax experience, including 15 years as a US tax lawyer in New York. She was a US tax partner at Sidley Austin in New York.

Angelica has an extensive track record advising clients on US tax structuring of M&A deals, cross-border transactions and corporate and partnership activities. Clients include leading financial institutions, investment funds, and AsiaPac and US-based multi-national corporations.

In both Hong Kong and New York, Angelica has been assisting hedge funds and private equity funds with US tax aspects of fund formation, trades and portfolio company investments.  Her team has proven capabilities delivering annual tax information for US investors in funds (Schedule K-1s/K-3s, PFIC statements), including property, credit and macro funds.  Angelica has assisted audit colleagues to review US tax provision materials for clients in various industries.

Angelica brings substantial US tax insight to sovereign and sovereign wealth fund clients, including when they are fund investors. She has extensive experience with Section 892 of the US Internal Revenue Code, and has also advised numerous US tax-exempt institutions.

Furthermore, Angelica has been the lead partner on many FATCA (Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act) and CRS (Common Reporting Standard) client engagements. 

Angelica has a J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard Law School (1993). She also holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business (1998), where she was an Arjay Miller Scholar. Angelica is a member of the bar of New York and the District of Columbia.
